OUR STORY
Posterity International emerged from firsthand exposure to the realities of humanitarian response in conflict and displacement settings.
While studying abroad in Amman, Jordan, the organization’s founders engaged directly with nongovernmental organizations operating within the humanitarian sector. Through this work, they gained insight into both the scale of global humanitarian need and the structural limitations that often prevent existing systems from fully protecting dignity, rights, and long-term wellbeing.
These experiences revealed a critical gap: while meaningful efforts were underway, too many responses remained reactive, fragmented, or constrained by institutional barriers. Posterity International was established in response to this gap—with a commitment to advancing human rights through intentional, ethical, and impact-driven action.
Founded to meet urgent humanitarian challenges with both immediacy and foresight, Posterity International works to strengthen access to dignity, protection, and justice for communities affected by crisis. The organization is guided by the belief that lasting change requires not only aid, but accountability, innovation, and sustained global engagement.

Sophonie Compas holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Philosophy & Public Policy, with double minors in Arabic and Philosophy & Law. Her academic and professional work focuses on human rights, displacement, and institutional accountability, informed by experience in humanitarian research and public policy. As Executive Director, she leads the organization’s strategy, partnerships, and program development, with an emphasis on working alongside local partners to ensure that initiatives reflect community-identified needs and priorities.

Maria is dedicated to strengthening local organizations, amplifying marginalized voices, and building pathways toward ethical and equitable futures while fostering cross-cultural understanding. She uses her B.A. in International Studies and Human Rights to lead initiatives that advance human rights and social justice through education, advocacy, and sustainable development.

Victoria Trainor is passionate about using finance as a tool for social impact. As Treasurer of Posterity International, she applies her background in BA Economics and MA international relations from the University of Massachusetts, Boston to promote transparency, sustainability, and equitable global development.

Program Development Officer
Alayna Khan is driven by the intersection of humanitarian action, global health, and diplomacy. With a focus on advancing health equity in underserved communities, she is particualrly interested in how policy, cross-sector collaboration, and on-the-ground medical initiatives can work together to create sustainable impact. As Posterity International's Program Development Officer, she leverages her leadershop experience and global persepctive to support initiatives that strengthen health systems, expand access to care, and advance long-term global development.
